Wayne, NE – 2/28/25 – The Providence Medical Center Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Haglund as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective March 1, 2025.
Nicole has been an integral part of PMC for nearly a decade, demonstrating exceptional leadership, dedication, and a steadfast commitment to quality healthcare. Most recently serving as Interim CEO, Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), she has played a pivotal role in advancing the hospital’s services, enhancing patient care, and fostering a culture of excellence. “Nicole’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping the success of our medical center,” said Rich Brandow, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Her deep understanding of healthcare operations, visionary approach to service expansion, and unwavering commitment to our patients and staff make her the ideal leader to guide Providence Medical Center into the future.”
With extensive experience in healthcare management, particularly in critical access hospitals, Nicole has successfully led key initiatives such as:
• Expanding service lines to better meet community needs.
• Achieving the Joint Commission Acute Stroke Ready Hospital designation.
• Enhancing operational efficiency across departments.
• Implementing innovative programs like Telehealth Neurology to improve access to specialized care.
• Strengthening employee benefits to support staff well-being.
