Palliative care is an interdisciplinary medical caregiving approach geared toward improving quality of life and tempering suffering for people with serious and complex illness.

The mission of the Providence Medical Center palliative care team is to reduce the hardship of illness of the patient and their family unit. Our services include pain and symptom management as well as emotional support for patients who face debilitating or life-threatening illnesses. These illnesses commonly include cancer, cardiac disease, lung disease, dementia, kidney failure, and other chronic conditions. Palliative care works alongside the patients attending physician in a support role with physician to coordinate an effective, tailored care program.
