The Providence Medical Center (PMC) Foundation is the recipient of a grant from the Gardner Foundation of Wakefield, Nebraska, in memory of Jeanne M. Gardner. The $50,000 grant will be used to assist the Hospital in purchasing a new ambulance designated to replace the oldest ambulance in its fleet of three. Only 6% of ambulance services in Nebraska are hospital-based and PMC operates one of them.
“We are very appreciative of the grant award given by the Gardner Foundation. This gift will help us to continue the high quality ambulance and transfer service provided by PMC for the residents of our region,” said Thomas J. Lee, FACHE, Administrator.
“Words cannot express how appreciative I am for the continued, faithful support that has been shown our Hospital by the Gardner Foundation,” said Laura Gamble, BSN, and Director of Clinical Services. “Over the years, PMC has benefited from Gardner Foundation grant awards that have truly made a difference,” she said.
“I’ve just realized that the Gardner Foundation has been most supportive of PMC projects since the late 1990s. I feel good about the fact that they have believed and trusted in the work that we do and I’m especially happy about this ambulance grant,” said Mark Tietz, Ambulance Director.
Sandra Bartling, the President of the Providence Medical Center Foundation, expressed her gratitude to the Gardner Foundation. “Dan and Jeanne Gardner and the trustees of the Gardner Foundation have been directly responsible for assisting PMC with various projects, from enhancing the Providence Wellness Center (then located in the basement of the Hospital) to granting funds for teleradiology and the outpatient/emergency wing project….all keeping quality healthcare ‘close to home.’ On many occasions, new life has been pumped into Providence Medical Center because of their charitable grant awards,” said Bartling. “Over the years, the Gardner Foundation trustees have elected to generously give to our hospital so that all of us might benefit from an enhanced quality of healthcare and we are most grateful.”
