Nurses, sonographers, social workers, licensed mental health practitioners and other clinicians working with patients experiencing perinatal or newborn loss.
The purpose of this program is to provide interdisciplinary education for bedside clinicians to assist patients and families experiencing perinatal loss or the loss of a newborn
- Assess the grief process and individual responses related to perinatal loss and or the loss of a newborn.
- Describe the needs of the caregiver and resources to avoid compassion fatigue.
- Identify resources to provide individualized care of the patient and family experiencing perinatal loss or loss of a newborn.
Contact hours are awarded for nursing, physician, social work, mental health, and education. Nurses: 7.0 contact hours awarded. Midwest Multistate Division Provider Approval #NE1022-1. Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Midwest Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
